4 Tips for Figuring Out Your Wedding Transportation

Posted on: 18 May 2015

When you are planning a wedding, one of the decisions to make is regarding transportation. This includes transportation for the bride and groom, the wedding party, and other guests. Here are some tips for choosing your wedding transportation.

Decide on the Bride and Groom Transportation

Decide on the transportation for the bride and groom first. This includes how they will get to the ceremony and from the ceremony to the reception. If you are going directly to the airport for your honeymoon, you should decide on transportation. Renting a limo specifically for the bride and groom is common, but there are also town cars available. One good idea is to rent a limo specifically for the bride and groom that is used from the time they reach the ceremony to going to their hotel for the night or the airport for their honeymoon.

Calculate Other People Needing Transportation

Your next step to arranging wedding transportation is thinking about others that will need transportation between the ceremony and the reception. You aren't going to want to pay for all 300 guests between point A to point B if they aren't close together. For transportation for larger groups, there are buses and vans available as well. Keep in mind you will have some people that prefer their own transportation.

Get Luxury Transportation for Special Guests

While you will not do this for all your guests, you might want to rent a limo for some of your guests. For example, you may want to have a second limo that will bring your parents and your spouse's parents and other close relatives, such as your children, siblings, or grandparents. They will enjoy riding in a limo while they are headed to the reception. You might also want to provide limo transportation for your wedding party, including your best man and maid of honor, and the bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Make Arrangements Ahead of Time

Once you figure out how many limos or town cars you will need and for how long you need them, make appointments with a local transportation company. Don't put this off or you might end up with cars you're not happy with. You may not realize it, but your wedding could be during another important event on the same day, so last-minute limousines might not be available. Don't take your chances and schedule the date and time as soon as possible.
