3 Things To Know About Securing Private Corporate Flights
Posted on: 30 August 2019
When you run a large business that requires you to travel all over the United States, you don't want to have to spend all of your times in the airport, going through security, and dealing with all of the delays that come with flying commercial. Instead, you want to have your access to a charter plane or access to the ability to use your own plane to get your team where they need to go.
Fractional Ownership Allows You to Share Ownership of a Jet
Fractional ownership allows you to share in the ownership of a jet with a group of individuals or companies. You each own a stake in the jet. For example, if you pay for 20% of the cost of the jet and its maintenance, then you won a 20% share of the jet, and thus would be entitled to use the jet 20% of the time. However, actual ownership usage division may be a bit more technical than that. You may be allowed to use the jet on certain days, weeks, or even months, depending on how the ownership is divided up.
With fractional ownership, you own a particular jet with a group of people, and split the ownership of that jet with that group of people. It can be advantageous to split the ownership with people who are all located in the same city or area, so that the starting point for the jet is always the same. If the ownership group is more spread out, it can complicate sharing the jet.
Private Corporate Flights (Charters) Allows You to Rent a Jet
With private corporate flights, otherwise known as charter flights, you are able to rent the jet. When you charter a jet, you have to pay the expenses for that particular jet, not for all of the cost of purchasing and taking care of the jet. That means that the costs you pay for the use of a private jet is based on the length of trips that you take. The ownership and upkeep of the jet is the responsibility of the charter company; you are just reserving the exclusive rights to fly the jet when you rent it.
Private Ownership Gives You Full Access to a Jet
Another option is private ownership. With private ownership, you own the entire jet, which means you can use it whenever you want. You don't have to share the jet with others, nor do you have to schedule when you want to charter a jet. However, with that full access also comes full responsibility. That also means that you will have to take care of the jet, maintain the jet, and staff the jet.
When it comes to enjoying air transportation without having to deal with other passengers, your corporation can participate in a fractional ownership, rent a corporate jet when needed, or purchase their own corporate jet.
